Desktop Search

I've used X1 Search in the past to quickly search through files and emails. It works well enough, but tends to be a resource hog and the interface leaves something to be desired.



I recently discovered Copernic Desktop Search, which performs similar functions to X1 but is easier to use and less resource intensive. Even better, it is free and includes a desktop search bar (like the Google deskbar) for finding information on your PC or the Internet. Very nice product!

have you ever given blinkx a go? like copernic it's free but offers more advanced desktop search facilities, as it can do conceptual search not just boolean/keyword, so comes up with more relevant results. it also automatically finds you links on the web while ur working on the desktop. check it out on www.blinkx.com. you won't be interested in the others after you've used this one...
