Online Backup
Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 8:07PM A friend tipped me off to Mozy, a rather cool and free online backup application. Files are encrypted using a private passphrase/key of your chosing and transmitted over SSL. You get 2gb for free and up to 4 restores per month. The interface is fairly easy to use and will automatically back up stuff like Thunderbird mailboxes or Outlook PST files. Right now its Windows-only.

Yeah but after reading that they keep your data on cheap hard drives wrapped in tin foil... I think you get what you pay for. I use an automatic http://www.datadepositbox.com" REL="nofollow">online backup tool from Data Deposit Box to sync my files... It's very inexpensive and once you set it up, there is nothing to do.
You can backup data by `mirroring,’ which maintains the absolute path of the source files. You don’t have to worry about security, as all data transfer is encrypted with 128-bit SSL encryption..

The coolest thing about IBackup for Windows is that you can `map’ your online account as a `local drive’ on your computer and work on the data as you normally do. For this you will have to download and install IDrive. With IDrive share files or folders with others for collaborative access. All you need to do is just create a sharable links for the file/folder and email the links.

You should take a look at perfectbackup, http://www.perfectbackup.co.uk as you can backup data which is held locally or stored in a USB, NAS or SAN environment. Supports multiple operating systems, many databases and as far as I am aware it is the only online backup sulotion to offer a £1,000,000 data restore guarantee.
